... and you get the 2009 Classic Tractors Calendar FREE
The fascinating story of the incredibly large, extreme machine, the Big Bud 747, biggest/most powerful tractor ever built. By sheer size and scale, the largest farm tractor on Earth. The book is also large, 12 x 9-inch format, packed with powerful pictures of this magnificent machine in Big Sky Country. But the book is not just about the tractor itself; it's about the young crew in Montana that built it, the man who placed the order to have it built to increase cotton yields, the other owners, what it cost and the work it performed. The Williams Brothers, Robert and Randy, of Big Sandy, Montana, wound up owning it, and brought back to work their giant wheat fields. People throughout the U.S., Canada and overseas, know the 747, and hundreds drop in to see it at its home near Big Sandy. It is a legend in its own time. This book tells why. A grrrrreat gift. Countdown to Pennfield
Big Bud 16V-747 Is Coming East!
| The largest tractor in the world, the Big Bud 747, is being carried 1,500
miles on two semi-trailer trucks from Havre, Montana to Penfield, Illinois,
to attend our 20th Anniversary of the Classic Farm Tractors Calendar,
hosted by the I&I Antique Tractor & Gas Engine Club, July 9th through
12th. This get-together is going to be big in more ways than one. Anyone
whose tractor has appeared on the Classic Tractors Calendar is invited to
Penfield as a special guest. The Allis-Chalmers Partners Club, the American
Truck Historical Society, and Cushman Scooter collectors will be there,
plus two tractors from the Smithsonian. Daily entertainment, tractor pulls,
a farm museum, pedal tractor pulls for the kids, demonstrations galore,
a spectacular steam engine spark show, and special fireworks to boot.
Where is Penfield?
| To find Penfield, you may need a magnifying glass, or an official
Illinois map that has all the tiny towns. But Rantoul is easily found, and
Penfield is just 10 miles due East on highway 136. Or, find
Champaign-Urbana, go North on route 45, drive slowly and watch for signs.
You may be able to spot the Big Bud 747 over the treetops! |
